Permission to perform Otello from James Graham, Duke of Montrose, to Mr. Ebers, King's Theatre, Haymarket [manuscript], 1822 May 7.

Statement from the Lord Chamberlain indicates that the opera entitled Otello, or the moor of Venice does not contain anything immoral or otherwise improper for the stage and grants permission for the work in question to be acted at the King's Theatre, Haymarket. Signed "Montrose."

John Ebers was the manager and William Ayrton the musical director of the King's Theatre in the Haymarket, London.
